The Center for Teaching Excellence

The Center for Teaching Excellence (CTE) is dedicated to building collegial community, enhancing teaching and learning, and fostering teaching innovation at all levels and in all academic disciplines. The CTE offers a number of signature programs, tailored services, rich resource materials, and seed grants designed to enhance the teaching environment at UVA.

Learning Design and Technology: We serve instructors in the College of Arts & Sciences as they incorporate innovative pedagogies and instructional technologies into their courses.

School of Education and Human Development

Learning Design & Teaching Innovation: The learning design and teaching innovation team, formerly known as the education online and Canvas support team supports faculty, students, and staff in the Canvas learning management system and in UVA licensed learning technologies such as Zoom, Poll Everywhere, VoiceThread, and Hypothesis. They also offer instructional design services for all faculty and graduate teaching assistants.
